Western companies: A population of 1.1bn, 300m of which belong to a
growing middle class, and a well-educated, eager and low-cost workforce
build a huge potential both as a manufacturing hub and as a market.
English as business language and a legal system derived from British law
make it seemingly easy for Westerners to get around. However, overwhelming
government regulation („red tape“), unfamiliar business practices and a
multi-layered complex culture pose many risks and challenges. In this
